One of Cirque Du Soleil’s oldest performances, Mystère, began in 1993. The first of the Cirque shows to have a prolonged residency, Mystère has been playing continuously at the Las Vegas, Treasure Island Hotel & Casino for 18 years. With its first performance on Christmas Day of 1993 the show has wowed a record 12 million spectators with an outstanding 8,000 performances as of 2010. Mystère features many of the common Cirque elements such as choreographed dancing and human strength through acrobatics. The show also has 7 acrobatic acts which include trampolines, pole climbing and swinging from ceilings. The music is composed by Canadian composer René Dupéré and has lyrics by Canadian singers Élise Gouin and Nathalie Gauvin.
