Cirque Du Soleil Gives A Tribute To The King Of Rock

Viva Elvis is the seventh Cirque Du Soleil installment on The Strip in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show premiered on February 19, 2010 and has been playing daily at the Aria Resort & Casino since its opening date. For the production Cirque du Soleil partnered with Elvis Presley Enterprises to produce the show, similar to the production of the Beatles tribute, LOVE. The project was originally scheduled to premier what would have been Presley’s 75th birthday but was postponed until February. There are many other ‘Elvis Experiences’ that will be on tour around the world. One in Europe and Asia was in 2010 while another project is planned to tour yearly between 2009 and 2015. The performance goes through 21 of the King’s famous songs with song, dance, and costumes all inspired by 50’s technicolor and fashion. Sadly due to low attendance Viva Elvis will be closing at the end of 2012. If your in Las Vegas in the next year be sure to stop by the Aria so you don’t miss this breathtaking tribute of a legend.
