Debuting in Orlando, Florida in 2001 in a 76 seat theater, Menopause The Musical has come a long way from its humble beginnings. The story surrounds a cast of four women shopping for lingerie at a Bloomingdale’s sale who sing 25 songs about “chocolate cravings, hot flashes, loss of memory, nocturnal sweats, and sexual predicaments.” The lyrics and music parody Baby Boomer era music. Soon after airing in Orlando, numerous shows opened across America. Notably in Detroit, Chicago and Los Angeles. Once the musical started becoming public it wasn’t long until Vegas wanted to host the show. As of 2011, Menopause is currently at the Luxor Resort & Casino on the south end of The Strip and has been getting very good reviews. The target audience is 50+, due to its topics, but can be enjoyed by the whole family.
